Community guidelines

Version 1.0 · Last updated 18 October 2026

Veya’s community is an anonymous place to ask questions and share what’s helped you, about periods, fertility, pregnancy, life after a birth, perimenopause and everything in between. These guidelines keep it kind and safe. They’re part of our Terms of Use.

Who can take part

You need to be 16 or older to read and post in the community. You don’t need an account: Veya gives you a random display name, such as “Fern”, and your posts aren’t linked to your cycle data.

Be kind

  • Treat people the way you’d want to be treated on a hard day.
  • Disagree with ideas, not people. No insults, mockery, bullying or pile-ons.
  • No hate speech, and no harassment based on anything, including race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, body size or reproductive choices.
  • Respect every path: trying to conceive, not wanting children, pregnancy, loss, abortion, adoption, menopause. Nobody here owes anyone an explanation.

Protect your privacy, and other people’s

  • An anonymous name doesn’t make what you write anonymous. Leave out names, places, workplaces, phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles and photos of documents.
  • Don’t share anything about another person that could identify them.
  • Don’t ask people to contact you outside Veya.

Share experiences, not prescriptions

  • Talking about what helped you is welcome. Telling someone what dose to take, or to stop a treatment, isn’t.
  • Don’t diagnose other people, and don’t claim to be a health professional.
  • Don’t share content that encourages unsafe practices, or misinformation that could cause harm.
  • No selling, swapping or offering medicines, tests or supplements.

Keep it relevant and genuine

  • No advertising, spam, referral codes, fundraising or links for commercial purposes.
  • No sexually explicit content.
  • Don’t post on behalf of a company, or pretend to be someone else.

If someone is in danger

If you’re thinking about harming yourself, or you’re worried about your safety, please don’t wait for replies: call your local emergency number or a crisis line. In the app, When to get help lists who to call. If you see a post where someone may be at risk, report it with the reason Self-harm concern so we can look at it quickly.

Reporting

Every post and reply has a report option. Choose the reason that fits best: spam or advertising, harassment or hate, harmful medical advice, sexual or explicit content, self-harm concern, or something else. Reports are private. The person you report isn’t told who reported them.

What happens next

  • Posts reported by several people are hidden automatically until we review them.
  • We review reports and remove content that breaks these guidelines or the law.
  • If a device repeatedly breaks the guidelines, we may remove its posts and, where we can, stop it from posting.
  • We don’t edit posts. We either leave them or remove them.

If you think we’ve removed something by mistake, email hello@myveya.co with roughly when you posted and what it said, and we’ll take another look.

Deleting what you’ve posted

You can delete your own posts and replies at any time. Account and data deletion explains what else you can remove, and our Privacy Policy explains what the community stores.

A note on health. Veya helps you keep track of what you notice. It doesn’t diagnose conditions, it isn’t a method of contraception, and its dates are estimates based on what you’ve logged. If something feels wrong, or you’re worried, talk to a doctor, nurse or midwife. Medical disclaimer
