Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use Veya, whatever their abilities and whatever device or assistive technology they use. This statement covers the Veya app for iPhone and Android and the website myveya.co.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on the website, and to apply the same principles in the app, following Apple’s and Google’s accessibility guidelines.
What’s built in
In the app
- Labels, roles and states for screen readers (TalkBack and VoiceOver) on buttons, chips, toggles, tabs and calendar days, so a day is read as, for example, “Today, Saturday, 17 October. Period day.”
- Touch targets of at least 48 by 48 points.
- Layouts that adapt when you increase your phone’s text size.
- Light and dark appearance, with colours chosen for contrast in both.
- Full right-to-left layout for Arabic.
- Eight languages, which you can choose separately from your phone’s language.
- Haptic feedback that confirms actions, alongside visible changes.
On the website
- A “Skip to content” link, a logical heading structure and landmarks.
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Motion is reduced when your device asks for it.
- The language of each page is declared, and Arabic pages are laid out right to left.
- Forms have visible labels, and errors and confirmations are announced to screen readers.
Known limitations
- The doctor summary is a PDF made on your phone. It isn’t a tagged PDF, so screen readers may read it less smoothly. The same information is available in the app and in the CSV export.
- Some newer screens may show a few phrases in English in some languages while translations are completed.
- The decorative 3D ribbon on the website’s home page has no text equivalent, because it carries no information.
We’re working on these and will update this statement as they’re fixed.
How we test
We check the website with automated tools such as Lighthouse and with keyboard-only testing, and we test the app with TalkBack, larger text sizes, dark mode and right-to-left layout before releases.
Tell us about a problem

Let us know which page or screen, what you were trying to do and, if you like, which device and assistive technology you use. You don’t need to include any health information. We aim to reply within 5 working days.
