Account and data deletion

Version 1.0 · Last updated 18 October 2026

You can delete everything Veya holds about you. Most of it you can delete yourself, straight away, in the app. This page explains each step, what each one removes, and how to ask us to delete anything you can’t remove yourself.

Before you start

Deleting can’t be undone. If you might want your records later, save a copy first: in Veya, go to Settings › Your data & devices › Download all your data and choose Download (JSON). You can restore that file into Veya on any phone, without an account.

Delete your community posts

Veya’s “Delete all data” doesn’t remove what you’ve posted in the community, because posts are public and stored separately. Open the community, find each post or reply you wrote, and choose Delete. It’s removed for everyone immediately.

Delete everything in the app

Go to Settings › Privacy settings › Delete all data, then tap Yes, delete everything. This deletes:

  • everything stored on your phone: periods, entries, notes, profile, reminders and personal settings
  • your cloud backup, if you made one
  • your partner summary, if sharing was on, so the code stops working

Veya then starts again from the beginning. To delete your cloud data, your phone needs to be online when you do this.

Delete a linked Google or Apple account

If you linked a Google account or used Sign in with Apple, the account record (your email address and the anonymous ID it’s connected to) stays in our sign-in system after you delete your data. To remove it:

  1. Delete all data in the app, as above, so your cloud backup is gone.
  2. In Veya, go to Settings › Your data & devices and tap Sign out.
  3. Email hello@myveya.co from the address you linked, with the subject “Delete my Veya account”. We’ll delete the account record, and anything still stored with it, within 30 days and confirm by email.

You can also remove Veya’s access from your sign-in provider: in your Google Account, under Security › Your connections to third-party apps & services; or on iPhone, in Settings › your name › Sign-In & Security › Sign in with Apple, where you can choose Veya and stop using it.

If you no longer have your phone

If you linked an account, email hello@myveya.co from that address, and we’ll delete your cloud backup, partner summary and account record within 30 days.

If you never linked an account, your cloud data is tied only to an anonymous ID on the phone that made it. Nobody, including us, can tell which data is yours, and nobody else can read it.

Health Connect

Deleting your data in Veya doesn’t remove records Veya wrote to Health Connect. To remove them, open Health Connect on your phone, choose App permissions › Veya, and delete Veya’s data there. You can also turn off Veya’s access in the same place.

Uninstall the app

Uninstalling Veya deletes everything it stored on your phone. It doesn’t delete your cloud backup, partner summary, community posts or a linked account, so remove those first using the steps above. On iPhone, an iCloud or computer backup of your phone may still contain a copy of Veya’s data until that backup is replaced.

Leave the waitlist

Use the unsubscribe link in our email, or email hello@myveya.co from the address you signed up with. We’ll remove it within 30 days. We delete the whole list within 90 days after the launch email anyway.

What we keep

  • Records of support payments that tax and accounting law requires us to keep. Apple and Google also keep their own records of your purchases.
  • Reports about community content, for up to 12 months after we’ve dealt with them.
  • Copies in Google’s internal backup systems, which are overwritten on Google’s schedule, usually within a few months.

To delete or cancel a monthly contribution, cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. Deleting Veya’s data doesn’t cancel it.

A note on health. Veya helps you keep track of what you notice. It doesn’t diagnose conditions, it isn’t a method of contraception, and its dates are estimates based on what you’ve logged. If something feels wrong, or you’re worried, talk to a doctor, nurse or midwife. Medical disclaimer
