What Stardust does well

  • A free version it describes as robust and genuinely useful, not an afterthought.2
  • A privacy design that keeps health data apart from contact details, tied only to a random account ID.3
  • A business model it says is built on subscriptions, not personal information.3
  • Social features: Friend Sync with a cycle code, and a Partner Mode so partners can follow along.2
  • Import from other apps by uploading screenshots of your past period data.2
  • Apple Health, Apple Watch and Oura connections for temperature and other data.2

Where Veya is different

  • Your entries are kept on your phone rather than on a server; cloud features are optional and off until you turn them on.
  • Every feature is free. There’s no paid tier, and optional pay-what-you-want support unlocks nothing.
  • Support after a birth and through perimenopause, as well as for trying to conceive and pregnancy.
  • No astrology or tarot. Veya sticks to what you log and to guides based on health sources.
  • Eight languages, including Arabic, Chinese and Hindi.

Which should you choose?

If you want to share your cycle with friends

Stardust’s Friend Sync is built for that. Veya’s sharing is a private summary for one partner.2

If you enjoy astrology and tarot

Stardust offers daily horoscopes and tarot readings in its paid tier. Veya doesn’t.2

If you’d rather nothing left your phone

Veya keeps entries in a local database, with no account needed.

If you need support after a birth or in perimenopause

Veya plans modes for both. We didn’t find either in Stardust.2,5

Questions

Does Stardust sell my data?

Stardust says: “We do not sell data. Never have, never will.” Its privacy policy also says it doesn’t use or disclose health data to serve digital advertising, and lists the kinds of companies health data may be shared with, such as service providers.3,4

Is Stardust free?

Yes, there is a free version. Stardust Super is an optional paid subscription with extra features such as daily horoscopes and the Cyclepedia symptom library.2

Can I bring my history from Stardust to Veya?

We didn’t find an export option on Stardust’s pages. You can start in Veya by adding your recent period dates; estimates improve as you log more cycles.
